Ellie and Ben were one of my 2020 couples that had to endure the ups, downs, and unknowns of planning a wedding during a pandemic. But their stunning wedding at Greenacres Art Center was more than worth the wait.

Ellie and Ben met the very first day of class their freshman year at Miami University. Who knew a 200 person general chemistry lecture could lead to love? They became fast friends studying together or grabbing a bite to eat after class. They started dating that fall and have been together ever since!

Family and friends are incredibly important to Ellie and Ben. In fact, their engagement scavenger hunt incorporated their close circle of family and friends at every step. So, for their wedding design, we wanted to create a feeling of a big, fun family dinner. Something relaxed, intimate, and personal.

We decided on a color palette of soft taupes, dusty green, berry, and touches of grey. We used a mixture of vineyard and round tables to really create that big family dinner feeling. Textured grey linens, coordinating rose napkins, and three different styles of centerpieces created a fun yet romantic atmosphere. And can we talk about the gorgeous draping in the tent? What a statement! If you are looking to add a bit of drama to your event, draping is a must.

Another favorite from Ellie and Ben’s wedding was their seating chart installation. Don’t let your seating chart be a throw away feature at your wedding. This is another chance to create a statement piece and really bring your design to life.

Some of my favorite memories are times spent around the table with the people I love. Good food, lingering with a glass of wine, laughing until late in the evening, what more could you want? I think we captured that spirit perfectly with Ellie and Ben’s Greenacres Art Center Wedding.
