A little rain couldn’t ruin Emily and Matt’s Dayton Art Institute wedding. This couple embraced the showers with some cute umbrella pics and had the best time celebrating with their friends and family.

Emily and Matt met at a University of Dayton Alumni Weekend in 2014. Daily phone calls turned into dating and eventually a surprise engagement on the top of Old Rag Mountain in Virginia. Their University of Dayton roots made the decision to do their ceremony at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception a no brainer. But I loved how this couple kept everything about their day central to downtown Dayton. They got ready at the Square One Salon and The Carrs Photography Studio and got plenty of pictures around the University of Dayton Campus.

After a beautiful mass, we headed to the Dayton Art Institute for the reception. This couple kept things simple and elegant - with greenery and ivory florals. And they incorporated one of my favorite Pittsburg traditions - the cookie table! If you aren’t familiar with this tradition, it is super fun (and delicious). The family of the bride and groom bake all sorts of cookies the week leading up to the wedding. They are then displayed and guests are encouraged to take some for later. Such a sweet tradition.

I loved working with Emily and Matt. When I provide event management services for a couple, it is all about making sure their day goes smoothly. My team and I worry about every little detail, so the bride, groom, and all their guests can enjoy the day. I think it is safe to say, Matt and Emily had an amazing wedding day.
