Your Wedding Weekend Planning Guide: Cincinnati, Ohio

Wedding Weekend Planning Guide and Itinerary Cincinnati Ohio

How often do you have your best friend from college in the same room with your grandmother? In reality, there aren’t many times your friends and family from all areas of your life will be together. Fortunately, a wedding is one of those times.

That is one of the reasons I love planning a whole wedding weekend for your guests. It is a great way to make the most of your time together and gives the bride and groom more opportunities for individual time with everyone. Plus, it is a great way to host your guests and make them feel at home in a place that means so much to both of you.

To get your wheels turning, here are a few of our favorite suggestions for a complete wedding weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Wedding Weekend Planning Guide and Itinerary for Cincinnati Ohio

Taproom TASTING and TOUR

From the Rhinegeist to Madtree there are so many fun breweries to visit in Cincinnati, just pick a neighborhood!. Most have a taproom where you can sample beers and offer a tour of the facilities (bonus: some serve amazing food too). I suggest setting up a tasting or tour depending on your group size. This a great event for Thursday for Friday midday. If you know your group will really be into it, you could even go to a couple of locations.

Roast and Toast Welcome Dinner

Something a little more casual and a bit larger than your rehearsal dinner, a welcome dinner is a great way to kick-off the weekend. I love the idea of opening it up for everyone to share a bit about the bride and groom. These aren’t the formal speeches you might get at the wedding. Rather, a way for any guests to talk about their love for the happy couple. It is sure to be an evening full of laughter and a great way for guests to really get to know each other. There are tons of great locations in Cincinnati with private rooms. A few to check out: Rose Dale, The Transept, Pleasantry, and Moerlein Lager House

Yoga in the Park

A perfect way to get moving on Saturday morning before the wedding. There are a ton of beautiful parks in Cincinnati - Alms Park, Smales Park, Ault Park, Eden Park - just to name a few. There are also some great local yoga studios and most teachers are available for private group lessons.

Rooftop Brunch

Brunch following the wedding is a long-standing tradition. Why not take it up a notch by having it on the rooftop of Lytle Park Hotel, Hotel Covington, or wherever you have reserved your room block? It is also a great idea to check with the hotel you have reserved your room block with. Take in the views of the city and get one more celebration in before everyone heads home.

Ultimately, your wedding weekend events should be thought of like a puzzle - unique pieces that fit together to create a whole picture. You want to make the weekend feel cohesive, with each event designed to reflect the couple and celebrate their love. With that in mind, I give my clients a detailed timeline not just for the day of the wedding but for each event. From the welcome bags to the farewell brunch, every detail matters!
