Old-World English Garden Wedding | Laurel Court | Cincinnati Wedding Planner
Brittany and Noah’s Laurel Court wedding was inspired by a classic English Garden. Using a palette of blues, gold, taupe, and soft reds we created an old-world feel that was both elegant and unique. Organic touches added romance and balanced the ornate, stately elements of Laurel Court’s elegant home and gardens.
Brittany and Noah were introduced by a mutual friend during undergrad. They quickly bonded over their love of movies, history, art, and tennis. After a few dates, they were completely inseparable. Brittany is an art archivist and loves bygone details, so we knew our design needed a classic, vintage feel. Noah is a filmmaker and we also wanted to incorporate his passion for art and film.
Their love of fine art came together in our quaint English Garden design. Their ceremony took place in the Laurel Court garden. A string quartet provided beautiful ceremony music and continued playing through dinner. Music plays such an important role in setting the mood for an event. It is an extremely important, though often overlooked part of any design. I love how Brittany and Noah embraced it. It created great energy and encouraged guest interaction. It felt as if the whole house was filled with music and conversation from cocktail hour through dinner.
Since both art and history are passions of the couple, we didn’t shy away from including ornate and vintage details. But, we made sure to balance those heavy details with natural textures like wood, brass, and ceramic. The couple also incorporated some very special vintage pieces into their wedding day style as well. Noah wore his Grandfather’s cuff links and Brittany used a vintage bridal mirror and jewelry she was gifted as a wedding present. Together, it created an old-world elegance that perfectly represented them!
